Amy Arnold is a fiber artist from Wisconsin. Arnold uses recycled sweaters and other found treasures to create "Peepwool"; unique one-of-kind wool people. Peepwool are alluring yet repulsive and yielding yet fierce. They can be found lounging on sofas, lerring from walls, and snuggling under the chins of slumbering children. www.peepwool.com
Jennifer Davis is a painter from Minneapolis. Davis works primarily with acrylic and graphite on board to create surreal images of people and animals. Her use of pastel colors and the whimsicalness of her characters make you feel like you are in a fantasy dreamland. www.jenniferdavisart.com
Chris Vance is a painter from Iowa. Vance works primarily with acrylic to create figurative abstract imagery. His use of color and his sense of composition define his paintings. Vance's work is both playful and complex. www.chrisvanceart.com
Boys & Toys, June 26 - August 10 Featuring the art of Denny Kemp Artist Reception: June 26, 7-10 PM, FREE and Open to the Public
Denny Kemp is a well-known hairstylist in Minneapolis, owning his own self-titled salon in NE Minneapolis. Many people have heard of him as a hairstylist but few know him as an artist. Kemp went to art school before getting into the beauty biz, and he continues to find time to paint and draw. He works in both oil and colored pencil creating a spectrum of works that range from realistic to fantasyland. Most recently, Kemp has starting experimenting with the art of photography. Kemp creates his art for his personal satisfaction and uses it to decorate his South Minneapolis pad. His show at Gallery 122 is a rare opportunity to see his artwork in the public.
