IN-STOCK MOULDINGS
Whether you’re framing on a budget, working with a fast approaching deadline, or just like to keep things on the simpler side, Hang It’s got you covered with our in-stock moulding options!
We keep a decent selection of mouldings in-stock at Hang It (meaning the materials are ordered in bulk and kept at the shop always) which are available to you with a 30% order discount.
Our in-stock selection, which is pictured below, includes a rounded black metal, black + white woods (at a few different heights/widths), a gold wood, and two natural wood-toned mouldings. We also have three float frame options (black, white, and gold) for any canvases needing to be framed.
So, exactly how much does a framing cost if using in-stock moulding?
Well, like anything custom, it’s hard to give exact numbers without knowing the full scope of the job, but we aim to be as transparent as possible with our clients, so we’ve outlined some rough price points in the chart to the right.
Our matte black moulding (3/4” wide) & our mid-toned walnut moulding (1 1/4” wide) are our two best sellers;
The chart prices out both options in two different ways to give you an idea of how cost differs between a relatively simple framing project versus a project with added design elements and/or upgraded materials.
The simpler project includes moulding, mounting, plexiglass,* and the labor to put everything together.
The “upgraded” project includes moulding, matting (specifically priced with a white paper matboard showing a 2” margin around the perimeter of the artwork), mounting, and AR-70 glass (which has added UV-protection AND an anti-reflective coating.
*Glass is still an option for the simple framing route (and is likely a few dollars cheaper than plex), but we’ve priced the simple framing option with plexiglass, as art conservation guidelines strongly recommend that glass does NOT make direct contact with artwork. Direct contact between art and glass poses the risk of the two fusing together; Plexiglass does not have this same concern.

We have a rotating selection of readymade frames available everyday in our frame room. These frames range in sizing from 4” x 6” all the way up to 18” x 24”, and the best part is that they are all cut from moulding leftover from custom orders! We offer these ready-to-go frames to you at a discounted price, and we’re able to limit the amount of waste our shop produces. Have a piece that isn’t a standard size? No worries—we can cut you a custom mat + glass to make your piece fit into whichever readymade you pick out! Want a cool, unique frame on a budget? Need your framing done by a fast approaching deadline? Readymades are the perfect fit for you!
OVERSTOCK MOULDING
We are continually adding new mouldings to our overstock selection. We offer these mouldings to you 30-50% off of their retail prices. We will cut and join the moulding to make a frame that fits your piece. This is the perfect option for those smaller projects that need framing.
